Over the years in my profession, I have worked with countless canine athletes on a daily basis.

With active participants in the Agility World Championship, European Open, FMBB, B.A.C.K., BCC, WAO, SAO and other big international events … You name it.

But not only have I worked with canine athletes as a rehab practitioner but also as a trainer myself. I have been an active trainer and competitor in several dog sports with my own dogs for the past 18 years!

All of this has helped me better understand their needs and just how much further you can take them if they are well mentally prepared and in excellent physical shape (and no, by physical shape I’m not only referring to stamina).

I am an active agility competitor, a doctor of veterinary medicine and a rehab practitioner. I teach agility specifics and educate dog owners worldwide.

I am a dog sports enthusiast and have been active in the field for over 15 years now! I enjoy the challenges of modern agility and I’m always motivated to find new solutions and to grow as a trainer.

This very attitude helped me qualify for the Agility World Championships and European Open with 3 dogs, all of different breeds. To top it all off, I have reached the podium on the biggest international events, multiple times!

I got started on my canine journey by graduating in veterinary medicine. Inspired by my four-legged patients, I decided to continue my education and became a certified canine physiotherapist.

I like to use my professional knowledge to help improve the performance of canine athletes.

THE DOG’S CORE – Center of gravity!

We tend to concentrate on primary movers (big muscle groups of the rear legs and front legs), because we want a powerful and muscular dog, but often forget about this important link between front and rear – the core. The importance of the core is to provide efficient front and rear limb work. If this system (abdominals, lower back) is not efficient, the body is not going to respond to all of the high demands placed on it while our dogs are running, jumping, and turning.

THE DOG’S REAR END

If 60 % of a dog’s body weight is carried by the front, the rear end acts more like the engine, responsible for pushing the body forward in sports performances and daily tasks.
